In November 2012, Jim Cossitt spoke to the Iowa Chapter of the Federal Bar Association’s 31st Annual Bankruptcy Conference regarding legal ethics rules as they apply to bankruptcy proceedings. His presentation included an update on the August 2012 amendments to the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct. As an expert in legal ethics relating to bankruptcy and a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) Ethics Task Force, Jim is often invited to speak on the subject of ethics.
Jim will be speaking at the 31st Annual Spring Meeting of the ABI, April 18 – 21, in National Harbor, Maryland, where he will participate as member of the committee for Consumer Bankruptcy/Ethics & Professional Compensation. The subject of this education session is “Nothing Is Impossible: The Complex Requirements and Ethical Duties of Representing Chapter 11 and/or Chapter 13 Consumer Debtors.”
Jim will also be on a panel of Task Force members who will present the Final Report of the Ethics Task Force on the final day of the Annual Spring Meeting of the ABI.
