Jim Cossit to Speak about Zombie Mortgages at NCLC Conference

Posted by:

Jim Cossitt is slated to be a featured speaker at the National Consumer Law Center’s Summer Mortgage Conference – Foreclosure Echo: Addressing the Ongoing Consequences of the Foreclosure Crisis on July 9-10, 2015 in Washington DC.   Jim will speak on July 10 at 10:40 am, along with Judy Fox (University of Notre Dame), on the topic of Zombie Mortgages.

Although foreclosure rates continue to decline, the effects of the foreclosure crisis still reverberate throughout the country.   The phrase “Zombie Mortgage”  refers to when a bank fails to follow through on foreclosure.    The homeowners are typically not aware that the foreclosure is not completed and are surprised to learn they are still responsible for the property and everything that happens on it or to it.

The conference is sponsored by the National Consumer Law Center and will be held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in  Arlington, Virginia. For more information, see:
